Dr. Llewellyn Powell received the Alan J. Davis Acheivement Award during the 2007 ADA/ DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Awards Program for his many contributions to dental research. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Mississippi and participated in the 1985 ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program. Dr. Powell is currently an Associate Professor of Operative Dentistry and Fixed Prosthodontics in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Tennessee - College of Dentistry.
Each year, SCADA chooses one associate to receive the Alan J. Davis SCADA Achievement Award, named in honor of the first SCADA corresponding secretary.
