Dr. Joseph Meng, a 2006 graduate of the University of Iowa, represented his school in the 2004 ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program in Orlando, Florida. His outstanding research earned a second place award in the Clinical Research category. Dr. Meng applied his award to his continuing studies at the Baylor School of Dentistry’s Graduate Prosthodontics Program.
The first SCADA Fellowship Award for graduate study in dentistry was awarded in 1976. This fund honors the memory of the late Henry M. Thornton, DENTSPLY’s Chairman Emeritus. The fund supports dental students in the advancement of post-doctoral dental education.
SCADA has awarded $62,500 in fellowship grants since inception. Dr. Meng received the 32nd scholarship during the 2007 ADA Annual Session in San Francisco, CA. To view a full list of past recipients, please log on to www.scadaresearch.org .
