Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni
Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni, Dean emeritus at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific, was Dean from 1978 to 2006, and is a former President of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Dental Schools. An orthodontist from San Francisco, he served as Director of the American Board of Orthodontics from 1979 to 1986 and as President in 1986. Dr. Dugoni graduated as class valedictorian from the College of Physicians and Surgeons (forerunner of Pacific) in 1948. He maintained a private practice for nearly 40 years, until 1987.

On August 28, 2004, the University of the Pacific renamed its renowned School of Dentistry as the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in honor of Dr. Dugoni’s contributions to dental education and organized dentistry during his silver anniversary as Dean.

He is a fellow of the American and International College of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International. A member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Dr. Dugoni received their Gold Medal Award (1996) and the Distinguished Service Award from the Northern California Chapter in 1982.

Dr. Dugoni is a founding member of the National Academies of Practice. He is an honorary member and recipient of an honorary fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry and an honorary member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine. He has presented more than 900 lectures, papers, clinics, and essays throughout his career and is the author of over 160 published articles. Dr. Dugoni and his wife, Katherine, have seven children: Steven, Michael, Russell, Mary, Diane, Arthur, and James, and 15 grandchildren.

Garima Virmani
Dr. Garima Virmani holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) from K.D. Dental College and Hospital, Mathura (U.P.). Dr. Virmani participated in the SCADA 2007 Indian Dental Association student table clinic competition. His project was titled “Implant Supported Prosthesis – An Onward Journey.” Dr. Virmani continues to participate in various dental research projects centering on dental implants.
