Dr. Rada Sumareva presents Dr. Ryan Edmunds with the Henry M. Thornton SCADA Fellowship Award.

During the DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Awards Program conducted at the 149th American Dental Association Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Ryan Edmunds received the Henry M. Thornton SCADA Fellowship Award.

Dr. Edmunds represented the Virginia Commonwealth University in the 2006 American Dental Association/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program in Las Vegas, NV. He graduated in 2007 from the Virginia Commonwealth University and is continuing his studies in the Graduate Periodontics Residency Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio to which this Fellowship will be applied.

SCADA represents an alumni association of past student clinicians throughout the world. Thirty-three years ago, a SCADA Fellowship Fund was established for graduate study by DENTSPLY’s Chairman Emeritus, whose vision created this program. The fund supports dental students to pursue post-doctoral dental education. SCADA has awarded $65,000 in Fellowship grants since its inception in 1976.
